With the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, a collection of spiritual works by Mykhailo Oleksandrovych Nadezhdinsky, a church composer, choirmaster, and representative of the Kyiv spiritual and musical tradition of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, has been published.
The collection is based on archival materials and contains restored and edited choral works that are being published for the first time. Almost a hundred years have passed since these compositions were created, and only now has it become possible not only to familiarize oneself with the musical text, but also to hear and perform these spiritual works in live church singing.
The publication is supplemented with historical references, rare photographs, and illustrations related to St. Vladimir's Cathedral in Kyiv and the Desyatinny Monastery of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The cover features a QR code with access to audio recordings of the works, allowing readers not only to study the musical notation, but also to hear the restored compositions.
The collection is intended for choir directors, singers, researchers of church music, and anyone interested in the spiritual heritage of the Orthodox Church.
